SUSTAINABLE DESIGN FOR REAL
Drosselmeyer's journey began in 2000, when inventor Erik von Schoultz wanted to find smart solutions that improve the functionality of everyday objects. Since then, our focus on sustainable design has taken us all the way from a worn premises in Hammarbyhamnen to MoMA in New York.
OUR FIRST PRODUCT
Our first product - the Nutcracker - became an immediate success story. It has won design awards and best-in-tests worldwide and is now represented at the National Museum's permanent exhibition for Swedish design. Today, in addition to nutcrackers, we also sell stylish candlesticks and seafood sticks. Our newest product is a patented tea strainer that will revolutionize the way you brew your tea.
FOUNDED BY A TRUE INVENTOR
Drosselmeyer founder Erik von Schoultz always dreamed of becoming an inventor. When he was nine he started his first design company selling cars made of clay and when he was 13 he tried his hand at creating a commercial product for the first time. Over the years, Erik has developed a design process that involves finding a simple solution that requires as few parts as possible. This led to the "Magic Tree Philosophy". Erik discovered that with three separate parts there is an exponential increase in simple complexity. If you include a spring, the construction also gets a dynamic feel.
